At the Barry Music Shop - we firmly believe in good 'Old Fashioned' service.

The Shop was founded approximately 8 years ago - as there had been no music shop in Barry for some years. Since starting from scratch - we now have a flourishing shop that specialises in all types of Guitar, but we also stock wind instruments such as Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet & Recorders. Other instrument section also include, Drums & Percussion, Keyboards, Harmonicas and Digital Piano.

The shop is well known in the area for carrying very good stocks of all Musical Accessories, and has a vast selection of many different brands of Guitar Strings as well as for Violin, Banjo, Mandolin and Ukulele. You will usually find many special monthly offers on a selection of Guitar Strings.

On guitars, we represent a variety of manufacturers - these were chosen because they offered quality instruments at reasonable prices plus the fact the shop did not want to sell exactly the same brands as every other music shop in South Wales!

Some of the brands available are: Crafter, Cort, LAG, Fernandes, Vintage, Cruzer, Ashton, Encore, Faith, Hamer and Freshman.

On amplification we are pleased to hold a dealership for Kustom, which people are discovering are a very exciting range of amplifiers offering very powerful output and quality of Sound. For the budget end of the market in amplifiers we also stock many models from the Cruzer range, which are solidly built and again offer good quality sound.

Stomp Pedals are always a MUST for a lot of Guitarists and we stock a comprehensive range from Behringer - BIG selection of pedals, but not big prices plus they do exactly the same as another much more expensive brand!

We are now also stocking the CHORD range of Pedals - with a SOLID CAST METAL body - easy battery compartment with a little door underneath the pedal, and most importantly - super effects producing a very good sound! Do call in and try them out - you will not be disappointed!

Accessories are stocked in every nook and cranny of the shop - from strings, straps, capos, slides, plectrums, leads, soft or hard cases, stands, cleaning & care products, right up to the extensive range of Guitar Spare Parts from pickups to screws, machine heads to endpins - the list is endless!

As you will have seen on other pages of this site, we are one of the largest PA Hire companies in South Wales - we therefore also stock a good range of Pro-Audio Equipment such as Amplifiers, Speakers, EFX Units, Mixers, Microphones, Leads, Stands, Flight Cases plus lots more! We actually know what we are doing - as we use this equipment ourselves!

We are also specialists for Radio Microphones of all types - whether Handheld, Lapel or Headworn Systems. We can help and advise you on your requirements and also help dispel a few myths about Radio Microphones and their use. Do not forget that we also Hire Radio Microphones.

We are also fortunate to have on our staff our own 'Guitar Tech' who is able to undertake all types of repair, setups or modifications to your cherished guitar. We also offer a re-stringing and tuning service - particularly useful for school pupils and learners.

While we try to keep all the popular tiles in stock at the shop, sometimes customers require a book that we do not generally stock - so this is an ideal way to purchase the books you require without having to wait until we send up a large order. Once ordered on-line they will be posted direct to your address.
