JPL Sound & Communication Sound Hire Commentary Units

As you can see from the pictures to the right hand side - we currently have six different units available for hire.

Unit No.1 is the largest of our units which is a semi-elevated unit, it measures 14' in length and 7' wide, the actual floor of the unit is 3'6" from ground level, this offers excellent viewing when being used where there are big crowds present as the average height person's head comes just under the bottom of the window line. There is a table top fitted the whole length of the unit which offers space for up to 6 persons sitting comfortably. There is a table with a lower shelf to the rear just inside the door which can also be used - the shelf is used for housing the amplifiers etc.

This unit is fitted with numerous mains sockets and also a bell for when this unit is used for Show Jumping.

Unit No. 2 is a 12' in length unit with floor height being a good 2' off ground level. A full length table top is fitted to seat 4 or 5 persons comfortably. There is also a bench seat to the rear plus a shelf unit which houses the amplifiers and technical equipment. This unit is also wired for mains electric. This unit is also fitted with a bell!

Unit No.3 is a 8' Unit with floor height being 18" off ground level. As with all the other units, a full length table top is fitted which can seat 3 persons in comfort. An equipment cupboard is fitted to the inner corner to house the amplification.

Unit No. 4 is a 10' Unit, with floor height being 2' off of ground level and a full length table top fitted to seat 3 persons in comfort. This unit does not have any windows in the rear of the unit - but the rear wall is constructed of 2 large opening doors, so it can be used as an exhibition unit also.

Unit No. 5 is a 12ft long commentary unit. It has a table the full length of it and a table across the one end of it for equipment. You will see from the picture it has very big front windows. This unit can seat 4 to 5 persons in comfort.

Unit No.6 is our brand new DOUBLE DECK UNIT - 16ft long with 2 Floors. There is a table top the complete length of the unit upstairs and also table units part of the length and across the width of the unit downstairs. Upstairs will seat 6 persons in comfort while there is working area and table tops for at least 4 people.

You will also notice during the winter & Spring months that we will be quietly changing the colour of the paint work of our commentary units. We have decided that it is time for all the units to be refurbished both inside and out and they will all in turn be re-sprayed Silver with Chrome/black outline lettering and logos.

All these units are maintained to the highest standards and offer excellent viewing, whether being used to Judges or Commentate from. Some customers hire the larger unit for Event Control units, which the organiser uses them as their event office.

MARCH 2011 - By now all our Commentary Units have been re-sprayed into the Metallic Silver Colour with the Chrome Lettering, similar to units No.1 & No.5!

"Great News" - we have finally collected our brand spanking new DOUBLE DECK COMMENTARY UNIT from the manufacturers - TowmasterUk of Wigan.

We are extremely pleased with the high quality workmanship that has gone into the manufacture of this unit - we were well impressed - and we are sure that all our customers will be also. No sooner than we brought it back to South Wales - the very next day it was on its way to Weston Super Mare in readiness for the 2011 Weston Beach Race.

We are receiving a lot of interest from our customers about this unit which not only will it be available for hire as a Commentary Unit, it will also be hired out as an Event Control Unit - ideal for the event organiser, security, police etc to be able to see over huge areas and crowds from such an ideal vantage point. A great unit for Festivals, Outdoor Concerts and lots more uses!
